On a new type of terminological dictionaries and reference books

The article presents overview of some domestic terminological dictionaries and reference books, forming a separate type of lexicographic publications. These dictionaries cover special vocabulary of strikingly different disciplines and areas of professional activities sometimes very distant from each other or vocabulary of the entire universe of special knowledge that may be of vivid interest not only for a specialist, but also for a layman of middle-level education and competence. The relevance of these dictionaries is highlighted. Strong and weak sides of these dictionaries are discussed as well as theoretical issues necessary for their development.
