Surzhyk: a lexico-grammatical and sociolinguistic analysis (on the basis of authentic material from a TV-show)

The article aims at clarifying the concept of "surzhyk" (the mixture of Ukrainian and Russian speech). For this purpose, data from the TV-show "Kljuchevoj moment" and from interviews conducted in Kharkov and Kherson are analyzed both from a linguistic (phonological, grammatical and comparative) and a sociolinguistic point of view.
