Abstract:

The article explores the meanings and usage of Russian behavioral adjectives collocated with nouns denoting behavioral acts and genres. We describe how nonverbal aspects of individual’s communicative behavior are represented in the semantics of those adjectives and how certain components of their meaning correlate with categories of politeness and impoliteness, rules of etiquette, and situational norms of human behavior
